Shayne Greco - Giant Clam Bowl with Octopus - White. This piece is made from sculpture clay. The clam shell is fully three dimensional and the piece measures approximately 16" wide x 16" long x 8 high.
The glaze used on the shell is Mediterranean White. The outside of the shell has been "stained" a process where most of the glaze is wiped off before the second kiln firing. This technique highlights the striations that pattern the outside.
The octopus has a crackle glaze that give the skin texture and depth. Parts are smooth and parts are rough. This handmade treasure makes a great conversation piece.
